Romanian Style Garlic Sauce

This is the perfect appetizer or afternoon snack for when you want a punch of flavor and it’s a garlic lovers dream, to be honest.

I pan-toasted some buttered sourdough bread slices and sliced some cherry tomatoes to accompany this quick sauce, and they tasted great together.

The quantities below make enough for about 1-2 people, check it out:


1/2 bulb of garlic (more or less to taste)
1 tsp mustard
1 tbsp sunflower oil
1 cup sour cream
1-2 tbsp fresh, minced dill
salt and pepper to taste


  1. Peel your garlic and either finely grate or finely mince the garlic into a bowl.
  2. Add the dill, mustard, oil, and sour cream and mix. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Serve with pretzels, crackers, or buttered toast. As part of a charcuterie board!?
