I’ve been sick this past week, but I’m feeling good enough today to update.
I had gluten-free vegetarian pizza a couple weeks ago with goat cheese, tomatoes, onion, and spinach. It turned out pretty good, although the edges were REALLY hard and I had to stop eating them at some point for fear of breaking my teeth.
My mom made one of my favorite dishes today: Romanian meatball soup (ciorba de perişoare) and it turned out SO GOOD, I had it for lunch and dinner.
Everybody makes it a little differently, but the ingredients are relatively the same. It involves meatballs (obviously) which we make from ground turkey, onions, carrots, tomatoes, parsley, and seasonings. And some other stuff. You can Google ‘ciorba de perişoare’ and you’ll find numerous recipes.
A few days ago, I decided I would give my mom a break and cook dinner for 2 days.
Day one on deck: broccoli and cheese soup, made from scratch, with carrots and leek. Served with a side of dark rye bread from Natalie’s Bakery in Madison Heights. (I’m obsessed with their breads.)
