A Taste of Spring

I should have posted these about a couple months ago but instead of complaining about that, I’m just going to casually drop the goods for y’all.

Here’s some more flowers from late spring this year.

Chrysanthemums ’17

It’s officially a month since my last update and shamefully, I did not deliver on my promises of having queued up posts. Truthfully, I was so busy and mentally occupied in the time leading up to the cruise, I just didn’t get around to it. But excuses, excuses, we’re not here to talk about that, so let’s cut to it.

I have a few chrysanthemum photos I want to share from late spring this year.

I tried some different editing styles in Photoshop with these to bring out a more vintage, cooler toned look. I need to mess around with this style, cause I definitely feel like I can enhance them even more, it’s just about finding that balance.

Hope you guys enjoy.

Pyrennaicum

I might be about three weeks late with this post, but I finally made it to my favorite new photograph. I used this one as the front of my new business cards and even got it printed to replace the big photograph in our bathroom.

I’m honestly just in love with it. The colors, even pre-editing, were gorgeous.

Also, TBH, I’m unsure whether this is actually a Pyrennaicum succulent, but judging from the lists I pored over to figure it out, it’s the closest I could find.

Flames

I went MIA for nearly two weeks in the middle of some great photos…don’t ask me why, even I don’t know.

Anyway, I’m back with a continuation! This is definitely one of my favorite new photos that I’ve taken. Enough that I decided to stick it on the back of my new business cards! The colors look even better printed out. The blues are deeper and more vibrant which makes the oranges really pop out.

This is the perfect example of what I was talking about in an earlier post about focusing on contrasting colors in my recent pieces.

Hope you enjoy!

Lavender Bells

Another day, another flower.

This is one of the photos that I was really excited about and decided to get it printed as an 8×10. It looks even better in real life than it does on screen. The lavender’s pop, the bluey-greens balance them out, and there’s an overall calming effect when you look at it.

In editing, I made sure to amp up the glowing lavender of the petals and balance them out with cool greens. I love the final result.
