Happy Thanksgiving!

This year has absolutely flown by! Today is Thanksgiving and I have so many things to be thankful for this year.

Firstly, I’m thankful for all the people in my life who helped lift me up, believed in me and in turned helped me believe in myself, and pushed me to be the best version of myself.

I’m especially thankful for all the new people who’ve entered my life and shaped it in ways I didn’t know were possible. I’ve had incredible experiences with and because of you all and I am truly blessed to have the privilege of having you in my life.

I’m particularly thankful for my new work position. The sheer love, support, fun, and creativity I’ve been allowed to experience here is more than I could’ve hoped for. Knock on wood, but I’m happy to get up for work every morning and happy to bring my cheery ass in and spread positivity. It’s amazing what a supportive environment can do for your mental health.

That said, myself and Bullseye are wishing each and every one of you a wonderful Thanksgiving day!

Swoop

YOU GUYS. IT’S THE LAST DAY OF BLOGVEMBER!

I had so much trouble deciding on what color scheme to do today’s photo in – it ended up being a piece that looked good in basically every curve and action I applied, so instead of continuing on the sullen and dark scheme I’d had for the past couple fin photos, I decided to cheer myself up (lord knows I need it) and go for a blushy pink/lilac scheme.

Again, if I was a viewer of this without knowing what I’m looking at are fish fins, I don’t think I’d be able to guess. They kind of look like bird feathers, which reminds me of the theory of evolution and makes me feel wonder at the amazing world we live in.

Tendrils & Innards

While summer is and always will be my favorite season in the year, I am a total “white girl” when it comes to autumn. I love everything pumpkin. I have definitely rolled my eyes more than a few times at some of the pumpkin flavored products out there (let’s be real, pumpkin barely has a flavor to begin with) but I still pick some up. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are my Starbucks lifeblood.

That said, we bake fresh pumpkin periodically throughout autumn in my household, and if you’ve never had fresh baked pumpkin, YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON A GIFT OF GOD HIMSELF YA’LL. My parents recommend pumpkins that aren’t orange pumpkin colored. Like you know those big white ones or the big taupe etc? Those generally make the most delicious sweet baked pumpkin. Sooo good.

My dad bought a taupe one the other day and baked half of it this morning. It’s delicious! The other half was chillin’ on our kitchen table, so I grabbed my camera and took pictures of the innards, which looked like a really cool stringy orange cave of seeds and tendrils. Here’s a neat little closeup.

Hello to the Sun

I nearly forgot I had blogging obligations tonight. I didn’t forget I had photography obligations though!

My best friend Maria was in from Philly a couple weeks ago and we hit up IKEA on the way home from Ann Arbor. I picked up some succulents while there and potted them in a neat flat bowl I got a few months back. I’m in love.

I really like the way this photo turned out. It looks like the succulent is saying hello to the sun. It calms me.
