Happy Easter!

It’s still Easter Sunday over here in Eastern Standard Time, and therefore not too late for me to share my eggs this year.

I was too busy with work to be able to do my fancy pysanky/kistky eggs this year, but I bought gold “dye” because we didn’t have any yellow, and all in all, our eggs turned out pretty cool. After I’d dyed several in blue, green, red, and purple, and I’d rubbed the first layer of gold on the gold eggs, I decided to roll one of them in my golden hands, and it turned out that it looks kind of like a golden galaxy on a field of a given color.

Smokey

A lovely giant chunk of smokey quartz at the Perot Museum in Dallas.

Smokey quartz is not one of my favorite crystals, but it can be very pretty in its own way.

For those of you interested in crystal healing, it may be of interest to know that smokey quartz is helpful in keeping your energies grounded and stabilized. It aids in overcoming negative emotions such as jealousy, fear, anger, and depression.

Bloody Tulips

Some more pretty tulips! In full bloom.

And for all the tulip pictures I’ve been posting, I thought I’d share a little poem to accompany them. This one is titled The Tulip by Thomas B. Davies:

The Tulip’s strength is in its stem
It holds its head so strong and straight
Into the soil it sinks so deep
There it stays til it’s time to reap

The Tulips beauty is in its head
Its colour varies from yellow to red
Find a colour, find a room
Leave it there and it will bloom

The Tulips warmth is in its petals
They overlap and keep so tight
When it’s dark they close right up
And open up when it is light

When uncut in fields of plenty
Dancing to the winds own beat
Watch them swaying in the breeze
You’ll think this sight is such a treat.

Garnet

There are often times, especially recently, that work is very boring and very uneventful. So I often times end up flipping through our order books and often times find things I want.

Recently, I found these cute garnet earrings that I figured would be relatively cheap (they were) and beautiful (they are). So for a second day in a row, here’s a picture of some earrings.

Natural garnet stones, sterling silver setting. I love them, they look fabulous in my ears.
