Mermaids & Avocados

Square

Just before St. Patrick’s Day, the lovely lady over at How About Orange posted a very easy and very delicious recipe for Avocado-Lemon Pie (which sounds weird, but trust me, it’s DIVINE) that I absolutely had to try. I made it on St. Patty’s and it turned out pretty damn good – except that I forgot to grab condensed milk. I substituted with dry milk mixed with water and sugar, so mine wouldn’t coagulate properly. This past weekend I discovered we had two avocados waiting to be used and went and picked up ingredients to make this pie again. I can happily say that remembering to buy condensed milk made it 100x more delicious and easier to handle. I managed to take a few pictures as the sun was setting earlier today and here are the results.

I also took a few pictures of my nails, because I painted them last night. I used Essie Shine of the Times topcoat straight on to my naked nails and sealed it with Essie No Chips Ahead. I really love Shine of the Times because it reminds me of fairytales and mermaids and makes me wish it was summer already so I could be swimming in my pool pretending to be a mermaid. It’s a multi-dimensional polish/topcoat, so it looks different at different angles. It’s kind of mesmerizing.

Lastly, I would like to mention that I am trying to sell my camera. If you’re interested, please by no means don’t hesitate to contact me. It’s a used in excellent condition Nikon d3000 kit (comes with 18-55 mm lens and carrying accessories) and I am throwing in an 8 GB SD card with it too. If you’re in the market for a beginner’s DSLR, this is a great choice!

Note: You may NOT use this work outside of the viewing pleasure of this blog. Thank you!

  1. Love the nail polish! And the pie sounds absolutely-mouth-wateringly delicious!

    1. Thanks! The polish is apparently limited edition, but you can find other brands that carry the same thing.
I highly encourage you to try making the pie. It’s really simple and cheap and SO GOOD.

      1. I have had my eyes on A Cut Above ever since it came out… but I can’t find it anywhere in Canada..

I will definitely try out the pie when I have more time! My boyfriend loves avocado and lemon! 🙂
