My biffle Alyza coerced me (although it really didn’t take much coercing TBH) to do the Lynda.com 21 Day Drawing Challenge this month and I’m really enjoying it so far.
Today’s photo comes from day 5’s challenge – refinement drawing. We were given a list to choose from of things to draw, and I chose the skull. Throughout the day, the challenge, was to draw the chosen theme over and over, and either improve on the original attempt, or at the very least, try different styles.
I chose to do my skulls in the Mexican sugar skull style. My first two attempts were digital, on my Samsung Note drawing tablet, and I did my last in the traditional art form, with pencils and Prismacolor markers. Today’s photo is of the traditional third piece and I’m really happen with the way it turned out. I plan to add some roses to weight the bottom of the skull later on.
