Naughty Nautical

Square

I’ve spent the last 9 weeks working my tooshie off in Fashion Design III, all for these photos of what I made. My theme was “nautical” and with my first garment, a tiered circle skirt dress, I stepped away from the traditional stripes associated with nautical . But I made sure to incorporate white and blue in the fabric. My classmates thought it looked more country than nautical, and in retrospect, they have a point. But I could totally see someone wearing it on a yacht.

My second ensemble is a side ruffle jean mini skirt and a free-flowing light red and white striped tank top. I paired it with my Tommy Hilfiger jacket, ivory striped Guess flats, and my bronze ship necklace to get that nautical theme going.

My third and last ensemble is a linen-like light blue and white striped mini dress that I hand-stitched gold ribbon to and added 6 gold buttons at the end of each ribbon. I paired this with red Franco Sarto wedges and a gold belt for an easy breezy look.

  1. I love the first and second outfit, I do think the floral gives the first one a more country appeal but I still love it. Did you make the first dress ? I know you said Fashion Design but I just want to clarify.

    1. Thanks! And yes, I made all 3 outfits: the dress, the red and white striped top and jean skirt, and the last dress.

      1. No problem , wow you did. Well, you did a wonderful job. Not that they all weren’t really nice but I would totally wear the first one. If you don’t mind me asking, have you ever considered opening a little store/clothing line or something along those lines ?

        1. Thanks again! I used to sell handmade polymer clay jewelry on my Etsy, but it is currently a deadspace. I’ve considered making aprons and selling them, however. My ultimate goal is to own my own EMPIRE. I want to be with the bigshots, you know?

          1. No problem and Oh I did go visit your Etsy page but I did not see anything. Now I know why : ). Well, that’s fantastic. Best wishes in pursing your goal !
