Among various small yearly traditions in my family, going to the Michigan Renaissance Festival with my mom and occasionally a friend, is one of my favorites. This year it was just my mom and me, but we had fun nonetheless. I spent much too much money on jewelry (surprise surprise) and ate my favorite RenFest food: broccoli and cheddar soup in a bread bowl.
