A little over a week ago, I went grocery shopping at Meijer (a local Michigan magical place that’s open 24/7 and caters to pretty much all my needs) and found bags of granola among their homemade parfaits and I thought to myself, you know, for $1.99, I can make more parfaits for less money than they’re selling them to me. So I bought a bag. Later I found out they had bags of granola because it was extra from making their parfaits, but alas.
Anyway, together with Dannon Light & Fit yogurt (2 points on Weight Watchers) and various berries, in this case strawberries and blueberries, I was able to make my own parfait and still feel good about my snack choices. The granola is just 3 points for 3 tablespoons on WW.
Here’s the recipe and directions:
The 5 Point Parfait
1 Dannon Light & Fit yogurt serving, any flavor (some kind of berry is probably best)
3 tbsp granola
1 handful of blueberries
3 (approx) large strawberries
1. Empty out your yogurt in a bowl or as a jar if you’re fancy like I was (I took mine to work!)
2. Pour 3 tbsps of granola over your yogurt.
3. Add your washed blueberries and chopped strawberries.
P.S. If you’re not a fan of crunchy granola parfaits, smooshing the granola between the yogurt and fruit will cause it to get softer in a few hours. And if you’re not a fan of soft granola, then top off your fruits with the granola instead!
